Harvard University leased a retail store in Harvard Square and asked Lindsay’s team to convert it into offices. She was startled on her first visit by the wasted space at the street entrance lobby.

Finding space in an empty place

An unnecessarily large staircase dominated the path from street up to the main level, nothing took place downstairs and the upper floor around the stair was open to below.

Valuable solutions

Lindsay designed Harvard’s team a new stair that added 20% more usable space and houses a library at street level and the digital classroom above.

The space was one of Harvard’s first LEED Certified projects.
